She is also the Project Director for the Smithsonian’s multi-faceted American Food History Project and director and co-curator for the exhibition\, FOOD: Transforming the American Table\, which opened in 2012; a refresh of the exhibition was completed in 2019. As one of the curators who collected Julia Child’s home kitchen in 2001\, she was also on the team that developed the exhibition Bon Appetit! Julia Child’s Kitchen at the Smithsonian\, on view from 2002 to 2012. Over more than three decades at the Smithsonian\, Johnson has collected a wide range of artifacts and archives reflecting the work and experiences of diverse Americans and communities. \nJohnson has published books and articles on the Chesapeake Bay\, maritime communities\, and material culture\, and has lectured widely on these and topics related to American food and wine history\, field research\, oral history recording\, and community-based documentation. She is an inaugural member of the editorial collective for Gastronomica: The Journal for Food History and received the 2020 Smithsonian Distinguished Scholar in the Humanities Award. She co-founded  a company that helps leaders put the ideas in her books into practice. Kim was a CEO coach at Dropbox\, Qualtrics\, Twitter\, and other tech companies. She was a member of the faculty at Apple University and before that led AdSense\, YouTube\, and DoubleClick teams at Google. Earlier in her career she was an analyst at the Soviet Companies Fund\, started a diamond cutting factory in Moscow\, and was director of operations of a pediatric clinic in Kosovo. SUMMARY:Lady Chop Presents "Drum Roll Please"
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nWe rocked the Old Post Office Museum with an amazing performance by @LadyChops. Children of all ages played the vest frottoir (aka rubboard)\, spoons\, maracas and various drums. The kids enjoyed the drum circle and dancing with scarves. The show was creative\, interactive\, and so much fun. We hope to rock with @LadyChops again in the future. Thank you to the @OldPostOfficeMuseum for providing us a venue to have our summer reading programs. Reading logs need to be turned in by July 6 to be entered into the drawing on July 7. We will notify you by phone if you have won. The library is open! Don’t let the construction scare you away. Please park and use the back entrance.
